The Target
AutoBahn Sales & Leasing LLC aims for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. That is the standard referenced by the Americans with Disabilities Act guidance and by California's Unruh Civil Rights Act as applied to websites.
What Was Done
- Every text color was checked against every background in the palette, and all pairs pass AA. Body text on the black base exceeds 15 to 1.
- All interactive parts work with a keyboard: menus, the photo gallery with its lightbox, the FAQ accordion, the quote form, the two decision guides. Focus is always visible.
- A skip link, page landmarks, one H1 per page and a logical heading order on every page.
- Form errors are announced to assistive technology and tied to the field they belong to.
- Motion is limited to short fades on photo tiles, the home page hero that holds in place while zooming as you scroll, one scroll-driven photo reveal, plus a slow strip of makes with its own pause button. All of it switches off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Every image has alternative text. Photos of delivered cars name the make and model.
- Text can be resized to 200 percent without loss of content, and the layout reflows at 320 pixels wide.
- Every page was tested with automated tooling at phone and desktop widths, then by hand with a keyboard across the menus, the photo viewer, the form, both guides. A screen reader pass with VoiceOver is the last check before launch.
Known Limitations
- The embedded Google Map on the contact page is provided by Google and is not fully keyboard operable. The address, a text link to directions and the phone number are given beside it so the map is never the only way to find the office.
- The credit application is hosted on Jotform, which is responsible for that form's accessibility. If you cannot use it, call and AutoBahn will take the application by phone.
- The two decision guides need JavaScript. Without it, a note tells you to call instead.
